SKY Sotheby's International Realty Lists Record-Setting Casey Key Property For $20,035,000

Luxury real estate brokerage firm, SKY Sotheby's International Realty, announced today that sales associate Joel Schemmel has just signed the exclusive listing agreement for an exquisite four-acre estate on Casey Key for $20,035,000. Located on the north end of this barrier island, the property - known as Sugar Bay - sets the record as the highest residential listing to date on Casey Key and in Sarasota County.

“The entire estate combines stately drama with the relaxed atmosphere of a beachfront resort,” says Schemmel. “Rarely does a Gulf-to-bay estate property offering such unique privacy, expansive grounds and exceptional architecture become available.”

Sugar Bay’s western border is lined with 300 feet of private beach, while the property’s eastern border provides direct access to Sarasota Bay and the Intra-Coastal waterway. In addition, the estate compound consists of an elegant main home, along with three unique guest houses, an amazing pool area, two tennis courts, a lap pool and two private docks.

The main home, constructed entirely of coral stone, features living areas designed to capture incredible views of the Gulf of Mexico, a master retreat with an enormous private balcony perfect for enchanting sunsets and additional guest suites each with their own dynamic views. An entire coral stone quarry was acquired in Central America for creation of the home. The stone was then shipped to Casey Key, where masons worked for more than three years to bring together all of the elements of this exceptional property. Hand-carved touches throughout the home include unique niches, a grand staircase, intricate balustrades, three fireplaces, a dramatic dining room buffet and whimsical fountain. Other amenities offered are a home theatre, game room and wine cellar/tasting room.

A waterfall pool surrounding the main home and a har tru surface tennis court create separation from the Bermuda-style guest house overlooking the bay. Possessing its own dramatic style, this guest home has French doors encompassing three sides of the property and a beautiful stone fireplace. Wrap-around decks and stairs leading to a crow’s nest perch provide views of the entire property as well as sweeping bay views.

To the south of the estate are the remaining two guest homes. One has three bedrooms, along with incredible Gulf and sunset views from the living areas and master bedroom retreat. The other features two bedrooms and overlooks the dock and bay. In between these two homes is an additional tennis court, lap pool and recreation area.

“Sugar Bay represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to own one of Sarasota County’s finest estates,” says Chad Roffers, President, SKY Sotheby’s International Realty. “Sellers of unique properties like this value the global marketing resources that the Sotheby’s affiliate network provides, along with our ability to connect them with qualified buyers.”
