Maripat and Bob Flood join Sky SOtheby's

SARASOTA, Fla. – January 24, 2008 – Luxury real estate brokerage firm SKY Sotheby’s International Realty is pleased to announce that Maripat and Bob Flood have joined the company’s downtown Sarasota office at 1237 N. Gulfstream Ave. as sales associates.This successful husband-and-wife team comes to SKY Sotheby’s International Realty as experienced, top-producing agents. The pair, having sold over $8 million in 2005, specializes in waterfront properties and luxury homes. “We joined SKY Sotheby’s International Realty because of their luxury real estate reputation,” said Maripat. “They successfully serve and support this high-end market better than any company.”

As sales associates at SKY Sotheby’s International Realty, Realtors are required to meet the following criteria: be ranked in the top 10 percent of the local real estate board, have average real estate transactions of $750,000 or more and list at least 12 properties every year. Natives of Milwaukee, the Floods came to Venice in 1991 as snowbirds. In 1999, they moved to Sarasota permanently from Chicago. Maripat received her Realtor license in 2004 while Bob obtained his in 2005. Prior to coming to Sarasota and launching their real estate careers, Maripat worked as an associate and then partner at one of the largest law firms in the country, Sidley & Austin, for 18 years, and Bob was employed in the aviation industry for 18 years. While working at Sidley & Austin, Maripat concentrated on corporate litigation and contracts and worked with CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies and various international clients. Bob served in the Air Force before launching his career as a corporate pilot. After 10 years as a pilot for several companies including Mobil Oil Corporation, he joined Global Aerospace’s Chicago office and became an assistant vice president and assistant manager for the aviation insurance company. When not selling real estate, Maripat actively utilizes her law degree by volunteering her time as a Guardian Ad Litem, a program where any individual may apply, complete training and represent children in legal disputes concerning their custody or welfare. Maripat and Bob are also involved in the Sarasota Board of Realtors.
