Serving others is what Stephen Lingley is all about. And he does it with a charismatic smile and more energy than a power plant. He served his country as an officer in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He serves his community as an active volunteer and member of many organizations. He serves his profession at national, state and local levels and is currently on the board and president-elect of the Venice Area Board of Realtors®. His service philosophy is one of the reasons he chose real estate as a profession.

“There is nothing more satisfying than helping people achieve their dreams,” says Lingley. “I want to do my absolute best to make that possible.”

Stephen Lingley is driven to do his best. One college degree was not enough. Stephen has three – Liberal Arts from the University of Maryland, Education from the University of Louisville, and Nursing from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

Likewise, belonging to one community organization is not enough. Stephen is an active member of many, and contributes in meaningful ways -- chairing committees, and serving in leadership roles.

“I firmly believe that every successful professional has an obligation to ‘give back’ to the community,” says Lingley. “It is not an option.”

One of his many contributions is chairing the SERTOMA (Service to Mankind) speech clinic for children at the Venice YMCA. Another example of his service philosophy involves emergency foster care for children. Through the years Stephen provided a safe loving home for more than 24 children. Also, he hosted five exchange students from a variety of countries.

His drive and determination to be the best is also evident in his real estate career. He is a Graduate of Realtor® Institute, earning the GRI designation, and also holds a Real Estate Broker’s License.

In 2003 Stephen received the first Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR) Newcomers Award. He was selected from among 150,000 Realtors®. The selection was based on many factors such as professional education, community achievements, and involvement in local boards and FAR. He also has been recognized as a Five-Star Real Estate Professional.

When he finds himself away from his regular work routine, Stephen enjoys shooting skeet, trap, and sporting clays and is a member of the Sarasota Skeet & Trap Club. Stephen also enjoys swimming, boating, and water skiing and he is a member of the Venice Yacht Club.

At SKY Sotheby’s Stephen will continue his focus on the Venice area, especially the Island of Venice and Manasota Key to the south. He will work from the company’s South Sarasota office in Osprey. He looks forward to contributing as a team member and providing the best service possible.
